This is Kyle's start to his third year in quarter midgets. He just got a new Bullrider Racecar for Christmas. He did very well in senior honda and light mod for his second season. Kyle will race a full schedule this season with all club races at Mini Indy, Indiana State Championship Series, Region 4 Championship Series, Gasoline Alley Nationals, Eastern Grands and hopefully the Dirt Grands. January 1st 2005
Columbus Ohio 2005 Winter Nationals
Kyle went to Ohio for the start of his third season in quarter midget racing. 250 cars were at the race. With lots of competition in the senior honda class. (40 cars) Kyle was in the first heat starting 10th and finished 6th. This put him in the F main where he started 1st and finished 1st. In the E main he started 5th and finished 5th. In the D main he started 9th and finished 5th. In the C main he started 9th and finished 7th. Kyle was not in the top 5 and did not transfer to the B main. He did well for not being in the car for two months.
January 15th 2005
Columbus Ohio Winter Nationals
Kyle returned to Ohio again to a 291 car count. 57 Senior Honda cars. In the heat Kyle drew a large number pill a started in the 7th spot in the lineup. He drove to a 3rd place finish which put him in the c main. In the C main Kyle started 1st and finished 3rd. In the B main he started 8th and finished 6th. Not being in the top 5 his day was done in senior honda. Kyle was also racing that brand new Bullrider at this race. Kyle was going to run it in the Lt. 160 class but some parts for the motor did not come in the mail. Kyle's Dad stayed up the night before the race working all night putting in his mod motor. Kyle started the Lt. mod heat in the 5th spot and finished 9th. In the B main he started 8th and had some major problems. The panhard bar worked loose causing the axle to shift and the chain came off and got bound up real bad. Kyle was done for the day.

Columbus Ohio Winter Nationals
Kyle was back in Ohio again. 316 cars, 48 Senior Honda and 31 Light 160 With both Bullriders ready to go in Senior Honda and Light 160. In senior honda Kyle drew a good pill and started 3rd and finished with a 2nd which put him in the B main. In the Lt . 160 he started 2nd in the heat and finish 1st. This was Kyle's first time in a light 160 car. Kyle had his work cut out for him. One car in the B main and one in the A main. It was 3PM and he would not have to get back into the cars until after midnight. At 11:30 pm Kyle climbed into the senior honda for the B-main. He started 4th and finished 2nd. Kyle's night was far from being over. Kyle's next race was senior honda A-main. Kyle would start the A main in the 7th spot where he drove his butt off to a 2nd place finish. Kyle ended up 2nd out of 48 cars this would be a career best for Kyle. The night was not over because the 10 year old still had the Lt. 160 A-main to go. At 2:30 am Kyle was in the hot chute waiting to push off when he noticed the ten year old was sound asleep in his car. Helmet , gloves and belts on ready to go and he was asleep. Dad just let him get a quick nap while the race before him was going. With 5 to go Dad woke him and Kyle was ready. Kyle started the Lt 160 from the 4th spot and held on to a 4th place finish.

Region 4 Championship Series Race #1 Columbus Ohio Indoor
This would be the 1st of a 9 race series in region 4 for Kyle. In practice the track looked to be loose and it was. Kyle qualified the senior honda at 6.7539 which was the 11th fastest of 58 seniors which put him in the c-main. Light 160 he qualified 6.5999 which was the 30th fastest out of 47 cars. He started racing in Lt 160 in the F-main where he started 1st and finished 9th and was done in Light 160. In the Senior Honda car he started the C-main in 5th and drove to a 2nd place finish. In the B-main he started 7th and finished 4th. Kyle was driving the car well and really looked strong. In the A-main he started 9th and drove to a 3rd place finish. This was also a career best for Kyle 3rd at a Regional Race out of 58 cars. Kyle brought home some hardware to add to his collection.

Mini Indy Club Race #1
This would be Kyle's first race at Mini Indy for the start of the season. 12 races with no throw outs. In the heat he started 1st and drove to a win in the senior honda car. In the light 160 class he started 4th and drove to a win. Kyle is looking good in both cars and driving hard. In the senior honda feature he started 4th and finished 3rd behind Tyler Courtney and Katie Hargitt. In the Light 160 he started 1st. Kyle drove hard with the big guns of Welch, Hamilton. McIntyre and was in 4th with 15 laps to go Westley McIntyre spun in front of Kyle. Westley was about to flip when Kyle hit the underside of his car, then the next two cars come around to hit Westley and Kyle. The red came out and everyone check out. Kyle finished 7th

Mini Indy Club Race #2
In the senior honda car Kyle started the heat 3rd and drove to another win in the Red Bullrider. In the Light 160 he drew a bad pill and started 9th and only drove to a 9th place finish. In Light 160 C-main he started 1st and finished 2nd. In the B-main he started 8th and finished 5th. Kyle was the X car for the feature. With know one going out before the green flag Kyle did not make the feature in the 160. In senior honda he started 5th. Kyle and Dillon Welch where racing hard and both cars got together. The call came to Trickle (no racing room). Kyle went to the rear and worked his way back to a 5th place finish.

Mini Indy Club Race #3
In senior honda Kyle drew a good pill putting him on the pole where he drove the Bullrider to another heat win. In Light 160 he started 6th and finished 4th. 160 B-main he started 2nd and finished 4th. In the features he started 5th in senior honda where he drove hard and was swapping back and forth with Dillon Welch for the 2nd position. On the last lap Dillon dove under Kyle and the two got together as they have before. The call went to Trickle (chopping). Being a call on the last lap it went to a automatic DQ for Kyle. This would hurt Kyle in the points battle. In the Light 160 feature Kyle would start 10th. With 17 laps to go Kyle's motor began to drop of the 10 year old kept driving the white Bullrider rather than shutting it down. He finished with a 8th place finish.

Region 4 Championship Series Race #2 Mini Indy
Kyle was at his home track for his regional race. In the senior honda he qualified 8th fastest out of 53 cars which put him in the B-main. In the B-main he started 8th and finished 3rd. In the A-main he started 8th and drove to a 3rd place finish out of 53 cars. He brought home some hardware to put on the shelf. In Light 160 he qualified 16th fastest which he started 5th in the D-main. He finished 6th and was the X car for the C-main where he did not take the track.

Mini Indy Club Race #5
In Senior Honda Kyle started 3rd and drove to the win. So far this year Kyle is undefeated this year in senior honda heats at Mini Indy. In the feature in senior honda he finished 3rd. In the Lt. 160 heat he started 7th and finished 5th. Kyle went to the B-main starting 4th where he spun Austin Chavez out and received a charging call and went to the back of the pack. He caught back up to Austin later in the race and under the yellow was bumping into the back of the bumper of Chavez. Chavez drove high up the track and gave Trickle the whets up hand signal. Trickle the younger driver did not pick this up and on the restart Chavez brake checked Trickle causing him to spin Chavez out. This would be Kyle's second call and the Black Flag came out for the 10 year from Southport. This would be Kyle's second DQ of the season one in Senior Honda and one in Light 160. This would hurt Kyle in a bad way in the points. Kyle put the cars in the hauler and would try Kokomo tomorrow.

Kokomo Club Race #4
Kyle went to Kokomo for the first time this year. Dad was working hard at changing gears. In practice Kyle was slow. He had to learn his groove all over. Kokomo is a real tricky track. Dad made some spring changes to help him out and in qualifying he was second best out of 9 cars. In the Senior Honda heat he started 4th and finished 2nd. In the feature he started 4th and took the lead early and was running away with the race. Kyle was about to lap a car a half a lap ahead of him when they spun out. Kyle came around them and creamed them. His car was trashed . Broken shock, bent axle, bent rim, bent spindle and three radius rods. A $500.00 crash. In the Light 160 class Kyle qualified 3rd out of 7. In the heat he started 3rd and got sandwiched between two cars and lost a engine gear. With no time to repair the gear he was done. Dad worked hard to repair the car before the feature where he would start 6th. Kyle drove hard and worked his way to a 2nd place finish behind Laine Hite.

Region 4 Championship Series Race #3 Toledo Ohio
This would be the next Region 4 race of the 9 race series. We drove up to Toledo, leaving a 2:00 am and got to the track at 6:30 am. Kyle's and his Dad have never been to Toledo and Kyle was hot out of the hauler. Turning a 6.34 in Senior Honda in practice and a 6.11 in Light 160. The track was wet that morning and rain was coming. Kyle's setup was right on and he was ready to qualify. In qualifying the junior Honda's were delayed by a short sprinkle. Then the senior honda was delayed. Kyle took the track shortly after a rain delay and was very loose because of the wet track. Later before he hit the track in the Light 160 car the heavens open up and it rained for hours. Around 4 pm the race was called and the Trickle's loaded up and headed to Indy.

Indiana State Championship Series Race #1 Mini Indy
This would be a 4 race series between Mini Indy and Kokomo. Kyle qualified 6th out of 33 in Senior Honda and 3rd fastest of 18 in Light 160. With the top 8 qualifiers locking into the A-main Kyle's work was cut out for him. In the Senior Honda feature he took the lead after starting from the 3rd spot. Garret Abrams passed him and then Katie Hargitt and Kyle held on to a 3rd place finish. In the Light 160 A-main he started 6th. He worked his way to 4th before his throttle began to stick and his breaks blew a line on the white Bullrider. Kyle was done with a DNF but finished 6th because 4 other cars went out before him. Kyle Hamilton with carb problems, Austin Martin with a DQ on calls, Katie Hargitt with exhaust problems and Laine Hite with a broken chain.

Region 4 Championship Series Race #4 Mac O Chee New Liberty Ohio States Race
This would be a 3 day event. This track know as the Bullring for the size of it. The smallest in Region 4. Kyle hit practice hard a was right on line. He qualified the red Senior Honda Bullrider in the B-main. 6th fastest out of the field of 38. In the white Light 160 Bullrider he qualified 20th out of 33 and ended up in the D-main. After qualifying almost 300 cars Kyle took to the track at 11:00pm in the Light 160 D-main. He would start on the pole and finished 2nd. We hit the truck and headed for the hotel. Sunday morning race organizers in the handlers meeting wanted to push the races because of rain on Monday. They ran 10 race last night and had 38 more to go. Kyle's first race was the light 160 C-main where he started 7th and during the race the brakes locked up and the rotor was glowing cherry red. Dad left him on the track but the race director called the 11 year old to the pits to check the brakes. The car had brakes and he was back out. Later the caliper threw the pads and Kyle was called to the pits and had to retire with the DNF. A bad break for the 11 year old. Kyle did not let that bother him. He jumped into the Red Senior Honda Bullrider and took the track for the B-main starting 5th. During the race he was hit from behind and a bad car was made on us no racing room. When you race out of town sometimes you get the bad calls. But the 11year old finish with a 5th place finish for a 10 on the line up for the A-main. In the a-main Kyle started 10 and was working his way up the field on the tricky (Bullring) track. Kyle was trying to make a pass for the 4th spot with Nigel Mathis and ended up spinning him out. Kyle went to the tale with a charging call. Dad wanted to call in the 11 year old to warn him of the 2 call DQ rule but a car was in the pits and Dad did not want to put another car in front of him. Later two cars got together and someone was hurt and the red flag came out and Dad was able to talk to him and warn him to drive a clean race. When the race restarted Kyle drove to a 5th place finish which was good for what he had been through that weekend.

Mini Indy Club Race #6
In senior honda Kyle started in the heat on the outside of the front row. Kyle has been undefeated in his heats this year so far in senior honda and finally was defeated by Dillon Welch. In the feature he started on the pole and finished second behind Katie Hargitt. In the white Lt 160 Bullrider he started 3rd in the heat and finished 3rd. In the feature he started 2nd and finished 3rd.
June 5th 2005
Mini Indy Club Race #7
Kyle Trickle's red senior honda Bullrider started the heat in the 6th spot. During the race with 11 laps to go Kyle and Camden Speth got together. Kyle's chain was off and he would have to come off the track for repairs. Kyle then returned to the track to finish in 5th place. Kyle would start the c-main in the 2nd spot and drove to a win. In the b-main he started in the 6th spot. During the race Kyle was forced to the outside wall where he ended up bending a axle, spindle, radius rods and a rim. Dad brought the 11 year old in for a quick fix. The car was not good but Kyle was able to pass one car for 9th place. Kyle did not place in the top 5 and would not transfer to the a-main. This would be the first time this year not to be in the senior honda feature. In the white light 160 Bullrider Kyle would start 2nd in the heat where he was forced to the outside wall by Kyle Hamilton. No Call was made to Hamilton and Kyle Trickle's car was not able to finish the heat with lots of damage. Dad worked the white Bullrider over between senior honda c and b mains and got it back together for the light 160 b-main. Starting in the 10th Kyle drove hard to finish 2nd behind Westlye McIntyre. In the feature Kyle started 8th. During the race Kyle Trickle chopped down on Tyler Cottongim causing the two to come together. Kyle went to the tail where he drove hard to a 5th place finish.

Mini Indy Club Race #8
The red senior honda Bullrider started the heat 1st and finished 2nd. In the feature started 5th and during the race Katie Hargitt chopped down on Kyle. The judges rule against the 11year old Trickle. Kyle clearly had the position but did not get the break. Kyle went to the tail where he finished in 7th place. In the white light 160 he started the heat 7th and finished the heat in 2nd. Started the feature in 4th and finished in 4th.

Mini Indy Club Race #9
The red senior honda started the heat 3rd and finished 2nd to
Garrett Abrams. In the feature Kyle started 5th. During the race Kyle and
another car got together and went to the tail with a no racing room call. Kyle
drove very hard to come back with a 2nd place feature finish after going to the
tail. GREAT JOB KYLE. In the white light 160 Kyle started the heat 6th and dove
to the lead but then was passed to finish 2nd. In the feature Kyle started 2nd
and during the race Kyle was freight trained by a group of cars where he
finished 7th.

Region 4 Championship Race #5 Kokomo
This is race #5 out of 9 races for region 4 (Indiana, Michigan, Ohio and West Virginia). Kyle Trickle drove the red senior honda Bullrider hard to qualify 8th out of 30 drivers to start 3rd in the b-main. In the white light 160 Kyle drove hard to qualify 11th out of 28 to start 5th in the c-main. Kyle's racing started in the c-main light 160 where he started 5th and finished 4th. Kyle then got in the red senior honda b-main, starting 3rd Kyle drove to a win. Kyle will start the senior honda on the 6th spot in the a-main. Kyle then got in the light 160 b-main starting in the 9th spot. During the race. During the race a driver drove in hard into the corner, not having the position he cut the corner and hit the rumble strips. This caused the driver to lose control of the car and t-bone Kyle and caused Kyle to go into a big flip. Kyle went into a forward flip where he ended right side up on top of the wall. Kyle was crying hard and the red came out. Everyone ran to his aid. The Medical team checked out the 11 year old and did not like a knot on his right elbow where he must of hit the inside of the car. Kyle was order to go to the hospital to get the knot checked out. This would be Kyle's second trip to the hospital from Kokomo. The car was charged with a charging car and Kyle walked off the track under his own power. Kyle would have to go to the Hospital and would not be able to continue his senior honda a-main where he was currently was 2nd in the points. Kyle would later check out fine at the hospital.

Kokomo Club Race #6
The red senior honda started the heat 4th and drove to win. In the feature he started 5th and drove to another feature win. In the white light 160 started 4th and drove to win. In the feature he started 5th and finished 2nd to Laine Hite.

Kokomo Club Race #7
The red senior honda started the heat 2nd and finished 3rd. Started the feature 3rd and finished with a feature win. The white light 160 started the heat 1st and drove to a win. In the feature Kyle started 2nd and took the lead early to lead most of the race. Track champ Laine Hite kept trying to pass Kyle Trickle for the lead but did not have enough to get around him. With 4 laps to go Laine charged Kyle at the north end of the track causing Kyle to go into another Kokomo flip. Kyle ended up backwards right side up on top of the wall. Kyle was unhurt but the car was not. Kyle came off the track for repairs while Laine went to the tail for a charge call. Kyle axle was a little bent with to much camber. Kyle took the track to finish with a 3rd place.
July 13th thru 17th 2005
J.S.C.A. Gasoline Alley Nationals Indianapolis Motor Speedway
This is a 4 day event at IMS with 400 cars from east to west of the US. The red senior honda Bullrider started the heat 4th and finished 6th. The red Bullrider would end up in the G-main. Starting the G-main in 6th Kyle received a call and went to the tail and drove back to a 2nd place finish. In the F-main he started 8th and drove to a 6th place finish. In the E-main Kyle received a call and a DOT (dead on the track) and was done in that car with a DQ for a accumulation of the two. Kyle was upset because of this being the Nationals but he still had the white light 160 Bullrider. He started this car 4th in the heat and drove it to 4th finish. This finish would put him in the B-main. Starting 8th in the B-main he drove to a 4th place finish the last transfer spot to put the 11year old in his 1st ever A-main National Event. Kyle would start 12th in the A-main where he drove hard to the 5th spot. On the last lap a car hit Kyle from behind causing him to spin out. Another car ducked under Kyle hitting him in the front end straightening him up where he crossed the finish in 9th spot National A-main.

Kokomo Club Race #11
Red senior honda started the heat 2nd and drove to win. In the feature started 6th and finished second. In the white light 160 Bullrider started the heat 2nd and drove to win. In the feature Kyle started 5th and drove to feature win.

Indiana State Championship Series Race #2 Kokomo
This would be the 2nd race of a 4 race series for the State of Indiana between Kokomo and Mini Indy. The red senior honda qualified fast time out of 34 cars and would be in the A-main starting 8th with the invert. Kyle drove the red Bullrider from the 8th spot to the 2nd spot to take the lead from Richard Dobbins with 6 laps to go. Kyle was a little impatient and drove into hard and spun Richard out. Kyle got the call and went to the tail with 6 to go and drove back hard to finish 6th. Not bad to recover from 10th to 6th in 6 laps. The light 160 qual. 4th fastest started 5th in the A-main and finished 4th behind Kyle Hamilton, Dillon Welch, and Dakota Jackson.
August 28th 2005
Region 4 Championship Series Race #6 Lansing Michigan
Kyle would start his day at 2am in the morning driving 5 hours to Lansing Mich. Kyle qual. the red senior honda 15th out of 33. Starting 1wst in the C-main Kyle drove to a win. In the B-main he started 6th and drove to a 3rd place finish. In the A-main senior honda. He started 8th and drove to a 6th place finish. The white light 160 qual. 14th out of 27. In the C-main started 4th and finished 5th. In the B-main started 10th and finished 3rd. In the A-main started 8th and finished 8th. What a day, Kyle returned to Lansing for only his second time ever. Qualified middle of the pack and raced both cars into the A-main. It was almost midnight and Kyle hit the road for the long hall to Indy.
September 3rd 2005
Mini Indy Club Race #10
Back to Mini Indy. It has been 8 long weeks since a race at Mini Indy. Kyle was rusty when both cars ended up in C-mains. Kyle transferred both cars to the A-mains where the senior honda took 6th place and the light 160 took 8th.

Mini Indy Club Race #11
The red senior honda had some engine problems in the heat and ended up in the D-main. Kyle started last in the D-main and drove to a win. In the C-main started 6th and drove to another win. In the B-main started 6th and drove to a 2nd place finish. In the A-main started 8th and drove to a 6th place finish. Boy was that a lot of racing. The white light 160 started 1st in the B-main and drove to a win. Started 7th in the A-main and drove to a 6th place finish.

Region 4 Championship Series Race #7 Miami Valley Xenia Ohio
The red senior honda qual. 16th of 35. Started the D-main in 6th and drove to a win. In the C-main started 6th and finished 6th and the day was over for the red senior honda. The white light 160 qual. 11th out of 21. C-main started 1st finished 2nd. B-main started 7th finished 5th. A-main started 10th finished 8th.

Indiana State Championship Series Race #3 Kokomo
With the time clock broke we pill draw for position for the heats. Red senior honda started heat 6th finished third. B-main started 3rd finished 2nd. A-main started 8th and drove to the front to almost take the lead from Katie Hargitt but finished 2nd. Light 160 heat started 4th finished 9th. B-main started 6th and drove to a win. A-main started 9th and finished 4th behind Jackson, Hamilton and Welch.

Region 4 Championship Series Race #8 Columbus Ohio
This would be Kyle's 1st trip to the Buckeye Club track. The red senior honda car qualified 10th out of 31 cars. Started 1st in the B-main and got tangled up with some other cars. The panhard bar was bent bad and the Mini Indy guys came to the rescue to help with the repairs. Kyle went back out to finish 4th. A-main started 9th and drove to the front to almost take the lead but finished 2nd behind Preston Walker the points leader. Light 160 qualified 14th out of 23. C-main started 2nd drove to the front and lead most of the race. With 5 laps to go Trevor Berry passed Kyle for the lead and on the last lap a car slammed Kyle and a few cars got under Kyle causing him to finish in 6th out of the transfer spot. The night was over for the white car.

Indiana States Championship Series Race #4 Mini Indy
The red senior honda qualified 3rd fastest to start 6th in the A-main. Kyle finished 3rd behind Tyler Courtney and Katie Hargitt. The white light 160 Bullrider qualified 7th fastest to start 2nd in the A-main. Kyle finished 4th behind Kyle Hamilton, Dakota Jackson and Dillon Welch. Kyle Trickle finished this series 2nd place in senior honda and 3rd place for light 160 in the State of Indiana
October 8th 2005
Region 4 Championship Series Race #9 Waterford Michigan
This would be Kyle Trickle's first time to go to the Capital City Track. Senior honda car qualified 17th to start in the D-main. In the warm up before the heat the throttle was having problems. We never got the car right and finished 7th out of the transfer spot. Kyle was finished in senior honda. The light 160 qualified 9th fastest to start 2nd in the B-main. In the B-main Kyle drove hard to take the lead over Ryan Miller and win the B-main. In the A-main Kyle would start 6th and drove hard to the front to take the lead over Trevor Berry. Berry came back with a short track move to retake the lead but Trickle had the momentum and retook the lead. Berry then chopped down on Trickle who clearly had the spot flipping himself. The red came out and Berry was fine. The judges made the call to Trickle and the crowd booed. It all of a sudden came clear. If Berry would have gotten the call , he would loose the light 160 Region 4 Championship to Seth Hiltibran. The Judges were local track and Trevor was from this local track. What a bummer for Trickle looking for the 160 win and Seth who worked so hard to loose a championship to some unfair judges. Kyle went to the tail and finished in 8th. This was the last race of the series were Kyle finished 4th in senior honda and 8th in light 160 in Region 4 Championship Series.

Senior Honda started the heat 2nd and finished 1st. In the feature started 3rd and finished 4th. The light 160 started the heat 1st and finished 3rd. In the feature Kyle started 6th and finished 3rd.

Mini Indy Club Race #4 Make up Race for rain out on April 23 2005
Senior Honda started the heat 2nd and finished 2nd. In the feature Kyle was way too aggressive and received 2 calls and was DQ. The black flag came out and Kyle was done. In the light 160 heat Kyle started 6th and finished 3rd. In the feature Kyle started 1st and finished 4th. Kyle wrapped up his season this weekend at Mini Indy. Kyle was 5th in Senior Honda and 5th in Light 160 at Mini Indy in the points
2005 Recap
In 2005 Kyle traveled 5881 miles in 4 States. Went to 32 races and got in the car for 141 heats and mains. Kyle raced in one Grand National Event, 9 Regional Championship Races, 4 Indiana State Championship Races, 12 Mini Indy Club Championship Races and 4 Kokomo Club Championship Races. His Dad tells him he spent $1,470 in Gas and $1,386 in entry fees and that is just a start Tires, Parts, Food and Hotels. But Kyle would not give it up for nothing. Kyle finished 9th in the Gasoline Alley Nationals in Light 160, 4th in Region 4 Championship in Senior Honda and 8th in Light 160 Region 4 Championship Series. In the Indiana State Championship Series he finished 2nd in Senior Honda and 3rd in Light 160. At Mini Indy he finished 5th in Senior Honda and 5th in Light 160. At Kokomo Kyle finish 8th in Senior Honda and 5th in Light 160. Kyle did well for 2005 his third year in racing but really can not wait for 2006 summer. Kyle would like to Thank everyone who helped him this year and everyone who came to watch him race.
